What are continuing education credits?

What are AIA Credits? American Institute for Architecture offers continuing education through building product manufacturers.

Continuing education credits can come in many forms depending on the organization, society, or industry. AIA or American Institute of Architects is one organization known within the architectural community to require continuing education credits to be a current member. The AIA offers many different AIA continuing education presentations through qualified building product manufacturers. As a building product manufacturer, we want the industry to stay current on the latest innovations and product enhancements we are striving to make, so being an AIA CES provider allows us to educate the industry.

What does AIA mean for the construction industry?

AIA is committed to giving us a world built with higher standards than before by examing things such as changing climates, reducing safety concerns, improving quality of life, and much more. A goal within the construction industry has been to get our industry to build infrastructure that will not harm the environment aiming to get to net-zero where a building produces as much energy as it uses. The AIA has a heavy focus on climate change, renewable energy, and educating its members and the architectural industry as a whole.

What is AIA HSW?

AIA HSW stands for Health, Safety, and Welfare. All Peerless' current AIA presentations fall under the HSW umbrella. AIA defines the different HSW categories as the following:

Health: "Those aspects of professional practice that improve the physical, emotional, and social well-being of occupants, users, and any others affected by buildings and sites."

Safety: "Those aspects of professional practice that protect occupants, users, and any others affected by buildings or sites from harm."

Welfare: "Those aspects of professional practice that enable equitable access, elevate the human experience, encourage social interaction, and benefit the environment."

How do I get credits on AIA?

To get AIA credits, you need to find a certified provider that will present and submit the credits to the AIA. Peerless is a certified provider and will do all the reporting for you with your AIA member number and provide you with a certificate for your record.
